Step 3: Contributors #

Adding a Writer #

1. Click “+ Add Writer” button to add a new writer.
2. Select from your existing catalog or click “Add New”.
3. Select the Contribution type (Music and Lyrics, Music Only, Lyrics Only)
4. Enter the writer’s percentage contribution.
5. Click Save (you can also just click save after you add both writers and musicians)

Adding Multiple Writers #

You can add as many writers as needed. Simply click “Add Writer” again after saving the first writer. Remember that all writer percentage splits must total exactly 100% when you save.

IMPORTANT: Writer percentages must add up to exactly 100%. If you have two writers, they might be split 60% / 40%, or 50% / 50%, or any combination that totals 100%. For three equal writers, use 33.33% each. Composer Catalog will alert you if the percentages do not add up correctly.

Adding a Musician #

1. Click the “+ Add Musician” button to add a new musician.
2. Select from your catalog or click “Add New”.
3. Enter their role and Work for Hire status.
4. Click Save

Adding Multiple Musicians #

You can add as many musicians as needed. Simply click “Add Musician” again after saving the first musician.
