Tips for Best Results #

  • Tip: Fill in as many fields as possible. The more metadata you have, the better your search results will be when looking for tracks to pitch.
  • Tip: Be consistent with your formatting — especially for the Key field. Pick a format (example: “C Major”) and use it the same way every time throughout your catalog.
  • Tip: Sound-alike artist and TV show references are extremely valuable. Music supervisors frequently search by sound-alikes when fulfilling briefs. Do not skip these fields.
  • Tip: Add keywords that describe how the track feels, where it might be used, and what emotions it evokes. Think about what words a music supervisor might search for.
  • Tip: You can save each section independently as you go. You do not need to complete the entire track in one sitting.
  • Tip: If a track is signed, always record the deal details including the reversion date. Missing a reversion date means missing the opportunity to reclaim your rights.
