Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting #

Track Count Does Not Match #

  • Do not click Start if the counts do not match.
  • Go back to your desktop application and re-export the database.
  • Make sure you are exporting from the correct database if you have multiple.
  • Try the import again with the fresh export file.

Audio Files Are Not Playing After Import #

  • The audio file for that track was likely not uploaded during the import.
  • Go to the track in question and click Edit Track.
  • Navigate to the Files section within the edit form.
  • Upload the audio file directly to that track.

Import Takes a Long Time #

  • Large catalogs with many tracks and audio files can take several minutes.
  • Do not close the browser or navigate away during the import.
  • Large audio file uploads (especially WAV files) will take longer than MP3 files.
  • A fast internet connection will speed up the audio file upload process significantly.

Quick Reference — Desktop to Online Migration #

STEP 1 Open Composer Catalog Desktop → Database Export → Export Database → Save the .CDA or .SDF file

STEP 2 Log in to composercatalog.com → Click Import in the left menu

STEP 3 Drag and drop your .CDA or .SDF file → Verify the track counts → Click Start

STEP 4 Drag and drop ALL linked audio files → Wait for upload to complete → Click Continue

STEP 5 Composer Catalog prepares and imports your data → Verify tracks and audio in the Tracks section

The most important thing to remember: Upload ALL your audio files during Step 4. Skipping files means going track by track to add them later.
